Civitan Foundation Receives $80,000 Grant from Thunderbirds Charities to Renovate Camp Civitan’s Multi-Plex Activity Field

Thunderbirds Charities recently awarded Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) – Arizona with a $50,000 grant.

The funds will enable PCA-Arizona to provide PCA workshops to underserved and underfunded middle schools throughout Maricopa County. “We at PCA-Arizona are incredibly grateful to the Thunderbirds for this grant, which will allow us to conduct a multitude of workshops that teach valuable life lessons for coaches, athletes and parents in Maricopa County,” said Rich Tomey, Chapter Executive Director. “The Thunderbirds and PCA both share a common mission to provide the young children of Arizona with a positive learning environment both on and off the field.” More
 

St. Joseph the Worker Receives 2017 Thunderbirds Charities Grant $150,000 will help further St. Joseph the Worker’s mission

St. Joseph the Worker (SJW) received a grant in the amount of $150,000 from Thunderbirds Charities in support of the Employment Heals Communities Program. Thunderbirds Charities’ support will help women, men, and families - referred by both the Individual and the Family Housing Hubs across Maricopa County - in ending their hardships and poverty through employment by providing direct program support, such as professional job development services, transportation assistance (bus passes), and crucial work essentials (safety equipment, tools, uniforms, non-slip shoes, and steel toe boots). More
 

Thunderbirds Charities Donates $300,000 to Bolster St. Mary’s Kids Cafe Program Including 2 New Refrigerated Trucks and “Grab And Go” After School Meals

Thunderbirds Charities provides a grant to OCJ (Opportunity, Community and Justice for Foster) Kids.

The Thunderbirds Charities provided a $25,000 grant to support OCJ Kids’ Transition Success Centers, which provides much-needed items, including clothes, shoes, diapers, hygiene products and more, to Arizona foster children – the most vulnerable people in our community. OCJ Kids procures and stores these items in its Transition Success Centers, and then provides them to the children through hundreds of foster group homes and families. More
 

Thunderbirds Charities Support National Award-Winning Local After School Music Program

“I’ve been involved since I was seven or eight. A New Leaf and Thunderbirds Charities Join Forces in Effort to Protect Survivors of Domestic Violence

Thunderbirds Charities and A New Leaf are partnering in 2018 to combat domestic violence in Maricopa County. Devoted to helping people in need and improving the quality of life in our community, Thunderbirds Charities has awarded local nonprofit A New Leaf with a grant of $155,000 to provide immediate safety and shelter for domestic violence victims. Funding will support A New Leaf’s Faith House Women’s Crisis Shelter and Domestic Violence Safe Temporary Overflow Program (DVSTOP). More
 

Thunderbird Charities Awards Grant to Herberger Theater Center for Wolf Trap Program

The Thunderbird Charities recently awarded the Herberger Theater Center with a $5,000 grant for the Wolf Trap Program. The Herberger Theater Center collaborates with Center Dance Ensemble to provide Wolf Trap, a performance residency and arts field trip program targeted to approximately 800 preschool and Head Start children, ages 3-5. The arts help young children learn critical skills, including creativity, collaboration, math, language arts and imagination. The program brings performing artists into at-risk preschool and Head Start classrooms. More
