Thunderbirds Charities Grant will help fund Laptops 4 Learning’s Laptops for Youth project, which provides laptops to youth in grades K-12 who are enrolled in Title-1 schools across Arizona and do not have convenient access to a computer at home. Eligible students must be enrolled in a Title-1 school in Arizona and demonstrate financial need as determined by school administrators or L4L’s Application for Financial Assistance.
Convenient access to computers has long been linked to positive academic outcomes. An unfortunate consequence of the digital divide is the measurable academic inequities that exists for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who lack the technology tools required for educational success. Having their own computer enables the student to fully participate in all educational programs offered at their school.
