The Arizona Pet Project is honored to announce a generous $35,000 grant from Thunderbirds Charities, which will primarily support critical services for people experiencing homelessness alongside pets. This impactful contribution will help expand life-saving programs, enhance animal welfare services, and further the organization’s mission of building a healthier, more compassionate community for pets and people throughout Arizona.
Thunderbirds Charities is widely recognized for its commitment to improving the quality of life for individuals and families in the Greater Phoenix area through strategic philanthropic investments. This grant will provide essential backing for The Arizona Pet Project’s efforts to remove barriers to shelter and housing for people experiencing homelessness, and will expand access to veterinary care, community outreach initiatives, wellness programs, and resources that ensure people with pets are able to access services.
“We are deeply grateful to Thunderbirds Charities for investing in our work and supporting the well-being of pets and pet families across our community,” said Leanna Taylor, CEO of The Arizona Pet Project. “This generous grant will allow us to enhance our work with unsheltered and unhoused people with pets, while strengthening collaborations with Key Campus, Central Arizona Shelter Services, and UMOM, to reach even more animals and people in need.”
Since its founding, The Arizona Pet Project has worked to make pet care more accessible, compassionate, and affordable for all. The support from Thunderbirds Charities will bolster the organization’s ongoing efforts to provide high-quality preventive care, education, and support services that contribute to long-term community impact.
“We believe in the transformative power of animal-centered care and the role it plays in fostering healthy communities,” said Matt Mooney, President of Thunderbirds Charities. “We are proud to support The Arizona Pet Project in its mission and look forward to the positive outcomes this funding will help achieve.”
