The Miracle League of Arizona is a nonprofit organization that welcomes new athletes with special needs, starting at the age of four and with no prior baseball knowledge required. Their adaptive baseball programming provides a chance for an often isolated and at-risk youth to be able to participate in a fun and positive recreational experience. Athletes come to the league in search of an inclusive and adaptive environment where they can play baseball and have fun. Everyone gets the chance to be part of a team, be successful, and have some fun at the Miracle League.
Thunderbirds Charities has awarded $20,000 towards Miracle League’s growth. With their support, the Miracle League has added additional divisions, upgraded uniforms, and added key features to their facility.
“Our goal is for everyone to have the chance to play baseball, regardless of physical or mental limitations,” said Cassandra Switalski; executive director of the Miracle League. “We want to thank The Thunderbirds for providing the generous funding for the special needs community, which gives our athletes a major league experience they could not have dreamed of before.”
