Thunderbirds Charities has granted support to SOUNDS Academy in the amount of $5,000, to support their tuition free After School programming. SOUNDS Academy’s mission is to teach, mentor, and provide musical experiences and opportunities to underserved youth.
The after school programs of SOUNDS Academy spread music education opportunities to children who are in schools that do not provide instrumental music education.
“We are extremely grateful to be awarded this gift from Thunderbirds Charities,” said Kirk Johnson, SOUNDS Academy Executive Director. “These programs allow us to give students an instrument, music, and a structure where children can learn the fundamentals of music performance. We are able to do this work with the help of foundations like Thunderbirds Charities.”
