The Thunderbirds, Rebuilding Together Team Up to Help Community

Tempe, AZ – January 5, 2018: Thunderbirds Charities will help Rebuilding Together Valley of the Sun build a bridge to freedom for area low-income veterans, seniors, and disabled individuals with a generous donation of proceeds from the group’s annual Waste Management Phoenix Open.

“We’re thrilled to help Rebuilding Together prevent in-home accidents and improve the life of people in our community,” said Thunderbirds Charities President Andy Markham. “Their Safe at Home Program ensures people in need can feel comfortable in their homes without worry, and that’s very important to us.”

“We help low-income seniors, veterans, and families lead safe, independent, comfortable lives by making free critical home repairs, building ramps, and installing safety equipment to prevent falls,” explained Kelly Watson, executive director of the Tempe-based non-profit. “The Thunderbirds’ generosity means even more Valley residents can remain in their homes.”

In 2017, Rebuilding Together Valley of the Sun has utilized the efforts of approximately 2,400 volunteers who have contributed close to 10,000 hours keeping Maricopa County residents safe. For more information about the organization, visit RTVOS.org.
