Mesa Arts Center’s MABEL Receives Grant from Thunderbirds Charities

Mesa Arts Center’s MABEL has been acknowledged with a grant of $20,000 from Thunderbirds Charities, to support the ongoing efforts to bring art to the people of Mesa. MABEL, (Mobile Art Based Engagement Lab) is an adaptable and flexible mobile gallery, with a really big table, moving arts lab, mono-printing, custom button-making, pop-up community center on the go.

“MABEL was created to reach further and provide programming to those without access to the Mesa Arts Center with community-building engagement at the core of its mission. It is greatly meaningful to have an organization of similar values come up beside us in support,” said Danica Marlin, community Engagement Specialist.

“Mesa Arts Center’s MABEL is creating connections, encouraging creativity and reducing barriers to the arts in our underserved neighborhoods. We are excited to support such a great neighborhood program,” said Scott Jenkins, president of Thunderbirds Charities.
