The Centers for Habilitation Receives Thunderbirds Charities Grant

Our P.A.S.S. Program (Participation, Accessibility, Socialization, and Sports) supports the growth and enrichment of our participants by providing new experiences that enhance their lives. This year, we are focusing on arts and culture, as these experiences are closely linked to happiness, identity, well-being, and a deeper appreciation for different perspectives and a sense of belonging.

Despite progress, negative perceptions and discrimination against individuals with developmental disabilities still persist. Often, these individuals are seen as incapable of making meaningful contributions. By incorporating arts and culture into our P.A.S.S. Program, we aim to highlight the value, perspective, and unique qualities of each person. Through recognizing and celebrating the diversity of cultural backgrounds, beliefs, and values, we foster a deeper understanding of varied human experiences, traditions, and viewpoints. Additionally, the program helps to develop social, communication, and creative skills, contributing to personal growth and connection.
