Thunderbird Charities recently awarded $5,000 to All Sports Foundation Inc., DBA Prostate On-Site Project. The funding will help provide free and low-cost prostate cancer screenings to men who are uninsured and underinsured on their POP mobile medical units. These screenings provide peace of mind to men and their families through early detection of prostate cancer.
POP is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is “To improve the quality of life for men and their families through education and early detection of prostate cancer”.
“We are so appreciative of Thunderbirds Charities support to POP for providing this funding for this silent killing disease. This funding allows more men the opportunity to get screened. With 1 in 7 men being diagnosed with prostate cancer in lifetime, 15 minutes could save a man’s life” said Marla Zimmerman, CEO of Prostate On-Site Project.
