Helping Hands for Freedom Life Needs Program

Thunderbirds Charities Provides Critical Support to the Families of the Fallen, Wounded and Deployed

In December of 2020, Thunderbirds Charities awarded $10,000 to Helping Hands for Freedom to help fund the Life Needs program. The Life Needs program supports the families of the fallen, wounded and deployed with emergency financial assistance. Families that apply typically need help with mortgage/rent, car payments, utilities, insurance and medical bills.

Helping Hands for Freedom CEO Eric Snelz acknowledged that “receiving these funds in a year where all but one of our fundraising events were cancelled because of Covid-19 provided a critical safety net to continue our mission of keeping families together in the home. The fact that the assistance came during the holiday season made an even bigger impact for our families.”

In a year during which families experienced unprecedented stress, Helping Hands for Freedom received inquiries from 829 families seeking relief from financial emergencies.
