Thunderbirds Charities Awards $35,000 to Valley Bloom

Valley Bloom is much closer to its goal of dressing nearly 6,000 students for school, thanks to the Thunderbirds. Thunderbirds Charities announced an award of $35,000 to Valley Bloom, formerly Assistance League of East Valley, for its signature program, Valley Bloom Students. The funds are to be used over the next two years. Through the Valley Bloom Students Program, Valley Bloom provides new school clothing and hygiene kits to elementary school children in need in Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Tempe and Kyrene School Districts. This year, our goal is to dress 6,000 students in uniform schools. Each student will receive bottoms, tops, a warm sweatshirt, and the schools’ choice of hygiene items or underwear. Nearly a thousand students in non-uniform schools will receive a shopping trip to Target. The children are recommended by school resource officers.

Ibis Valles, President, Valley Bloom: “Throughout the years, donations from Thunderbirds Charities go to the core of what we are all about: helping kids achieve their goals and dreams; and providing
the clothing necessary to feel proud of how they look as they enter the school year. The kids and families are grateful for your continued support, and so are we at Valley Bloom. Thank you. “
