New Thunderbirds Charities Grant Helps Artlink’s “Artinerary” Connect The Arts Community And The Public

Artlink, the non-profit that brought First Fridays to Downtown Phoenix has received a $25,000 donation from Thunderbirds Charities to increase diverse artists access to Arizona’s arts economy and ecosystem. That’s one of the missions of Artlink’s new Artinerary platform, which provides customizable and shareable “Artineraries” complete with maps, and directories of participating artists, arts organizations, and venues.

This new platform is a bridge between the arts community and a public eager to experience what they have to offer. It gives artists and businesses an opportunity to register events connecting them with the public in a user-friendly platform. Here is a link. This new digital resource for Arizona’s creative community provides critical tools necessary to drive exploration, appreciation, and support.

Thunderbirds Charities, a non-profit organization formed in 1986 to distribute monies raised through the WM Phoenix Open, has contributed more than$190 million to numerous charities over the years.

“We have a growing number of talented and diverse artists in Arizona who may lack the technical or financial resources to connect with the public. The Artinerary platform can be a critical resource to bridge that gap, making access to the arts just a click away. Our sincere thanks to Thunderbirds Charities for helping to provide this two-way access that supports the arts community and provides cultural enrichment to Arizonans. These efforts truly reflect the Thunderbirds respected legacy,” said Catrina Kahler, President and CEO of Artlink.

“Cultural enrichment need not be an isolated endeavor. We are proud to provide a path for artists to reach as many people as possible,” said Pat Williams, President of Thunderbirds Charities..

This is a busy time for Artlink as it is coordinating hundreds of artistic and creative experiences produced by Arizona’s arts community. That community includes partners such as the Arizona Commission on the Arts, City of Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture, Valley Metro, Downtown Phoenix Inc., Park Central, Phoenix Art Museum, FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel, Greater Phoenix Economic Council and more to come.

A special month-long celebration of Art Detour, which celebrates its 36th year, takes place March 1st to March 31st. It includes the 11th annual Art d’Core Gala to be held at the Phoenix Art Museum on Saturday, March 16th, 2024. The theme for 2024 is: P A N O R A M A, celebrating the 360 view that Arizona’s creative community brings to a colorful life.
Tickets for the Art d’Core Gala start at $175 (with special pricing for Artlink Articipants) and are now on sale and can be purchased here:artlinkphx.org/gala2024.
