Phoenix, AZ – one·n·ten, a leading non-profit dedicated to empowering LGBTQ+ youth, announced today that it has received a generous grant from Thunderbirds Charities. This renewed support will continue funding essential programs and services at its Downtown Phoenix Youth Center, ensuring LGBTQ+ youth and young adults have access to safe, affirming, and inclusive spaces.
With the support of Thunderbirds Charities, one·n·ten will sustain the vital services provided at its youth center year-round, programs such as 2gether N Color, a culturally grounded group by and for LGBTQ+ Black, Indigenous, and youth of color that offers a brave, affirming space for youth to explore identity, build authentic connections, and grow as leaders; The Wellness Collaborative, which promotes holistic well-being and incorporates Sources of Strength, an evidence-based suicide prevention program; Art Club, a creative space where youth can explore self-expression through various art forms; and Friends Ending Stigma Together (FEST) & Developmental & Age-Appropriate Sexual Health (DAASH), offering age-appropriate, medically accurate, LGBTQ+ inclusive, sexual health education.
“These programs give LGBTQ+ young folks a safe space to access resources that are too often out of reach or not affirming of their identities,” said Abby Eshelman, Senior Youth Center Operations Manager. at one·n·ten. “Thunderbirds Charities’ continued investment makes it possible for us to meet youth where they are and offer support that encourage resilience, belonging, and healthy life choices.”
